Avernum 6 singleton1/14/2024 ![]() Against strong or numerous enemies doing high damage, good defense lets you whittle them down while constantly healing yourself, but strong offense doesn't help when you're already dead. This is a complete of all items to be found in Avernum 6, along with their vital stats. (It's lousy against some other enemies, so you'll want to carry at least two blades and swap as needed.)ĭo invest heavily in the defensive skills (defense, parry, hardiness). This will include all possible gamebraking glitches and stuff like that, the idea is to survive right This is not to prove my. I allow myself to do anything that is in the game without using the editor. Eventually I got several points in Pole Arms, for the battle disciplines, but I stuck mostly with sword because (a) I wanted a shield for added defense, and ( the fiery sword you get half-way through the game is much more effective against many foes than any other weapon. This thread is mostly for the amusement of your reading, and for me to try how far I will get. With the steadily rising Sharpshooter from Divinely Touched, my bow was handy even with low Bows skill, if never decisive. Towards the end the game was actually quite a bit easier than it had been with a party of four, and I could probably have handled Tricky without too much trouble. A slith or nephil would no doubt be worthwhile too, but my human was fine on normal difficulty. You'll have lots of experience, so take both traits. I'd take Divinely Touched (because it's the best) and Natural Mage (because you'll really want both heavy armor and mage spells). ![]() You can make a long analysis of why this seems like a tedious and unfair burden while the other drawbacks to being a singleton are interesting challenges, but the bottom line is that I think you'll have more fun if you just decide that editing up Lore stats doesn't count. Since it is the entire party's total score for these skills that is checked, a singleton has a huge disadvantage here. One thing I really recommend, if you are not trying to do this for the pure iron-man challenge of it, is to use the character editor to boost your Nature and Arcane Lore skills to whatever it takes to find every cache and read every spellbook. I did this recently, and it was quite doable on normal difficulty, and a lot of fun. ![]()
